Alpengasthof Kasern (1620 m)Safety information
In early summer, avalanche remnants and old snowfields must be crossed repeatedly. On the way from the Kleegrubenscharte to the stone lamb there is a short exposed section that requires concentration. Otherwise, the mountain paths are not difficult.Tips and suggestions
From Toldern back to the starting point by hitchhiking or with the postbus. You can also park a second car in Toldern in the morning, if available.Roadbook
From the Kleegrubenscharte, continue without significant inclines, following the signpost towards the Geraer Hütte. Always keeping Olperer and Fußstein on the left in view, we cross the slope, repeatedly crossing glacier streams towards a distinctive ridge, the stone lamb. From Kasern to here about 3.5 hours walking time.
The descent through the Wilkdlahnertal is marked with signposts from the stone lamb. Do not descend immediately at the ridge (the markings are crossed out) but follow the ridge, briefly secured with a rope, before descending right in countless switchbacks into the Wildlahnertal. From there, follow the forest road downstream towards Toldern.
