From WZ 8, follow the right of the two sand-based paths. Initially flat, then ascending, the route leads first along the Forest Idyll Path towards the Weißbach valley, higher up called "Speik." At a bridge over the stream, the path becomes steeper, the terrain more alpine. The hike along the mountain stream is incredibly charming, passing small gorges, waterfalls, and pools. At a wide gravel bed beyond a weir system, the walkable valley ends in a mighty rocky circle ("Speik"). The circular route continues on the opposite side of the gorge, first descending, then ascending to the source area of the Weißbach. The loop closes at the confluence of Weißbach and Speikbach. Descent follows the same route as the ascent.

S3/S4 Berchtesgaden <> Freilassing: Exit at Bayerisch Gmain, from the station square go straight on Obere Bahnhofsstraße to the junction with Lattenbergstraße. Cross the street and walk 30 meters right towards the former Lattenbergstüberl, then turn left into Alpentalstraße. Follow the street to its end at the hiking center.
BUS:
Bus 180 / Bad Reichenhall <> Salzburg and Bus 841 Bad Reichenhall <> Jennerbahn: Exit at Bayerisch Gmain Bridge
Cross the railway bridge and follow Lattenbergstraße until you turn right into Alpentalstraße at the former Lattenbergstüberl. Follow the street to its end at the hiking center.

From Munich/Salzburg/Lofer/Inzell:
Drive to Bad Reichenhall. Follow B20 or B21 to the Bad Reichenhall city center exit. Follow signs for B20 towards Berchtesgaden. Leave Bad Reichenhall and continue for 900 meters on B20. At the entrance to Bayerisch Gmain, turn left, cross the railway bridge, and follow Lattenbergstraße until you turn right into Alpentalstraße at the former Lattenbergstüberl. Follow the street to its end at the hiking center.
From Berchtesgaden / Großgmain:
Follow B20 until shortly before leaving the town near the supermarket (right side), turn left, cross the railway bridge into Lattenbergstraße. Follow the street until you turn right into Alpentalstraße at the former Lattenbergstüberl. Follow the street to its end at the hiking center.
