A climbing garden and a small practice via ferrata are located on the nearby breast wall.
The game enclosure, petting zoo, and fish ponds around the Gasthof Kleefeld invite you to linger.

Alpine guesthouse Kleefeld: http://www.kleefeld.at/Roadbook
Above the Gasthof Kleefeld, a forest road runs along the game enclosure into the mountain forest. Twice, marked hiking trail shortcuts are available. At 830m, we leave the gravel road to the right into a densely wooded hollow. Over rocky ledges, we climb up in the shady forest beside a stream bed to the open areas of the Dürntalalm (if you continue following the road, you will also reach here by a detour). The alpine meadow slope is crossed to its upper end before we dive back into the shady forest. The northern cliffs of the Sparber are circumnavigated in a wide right curve. The rooty-earthy hiking trail leads over several short rocky ledges up to the SE base of the Sparber. Here we now cross a very steep mountain meadow somewhat exposed and reach the saddle between the small and large Sparber via a rock step lightened by a short ladder.
We leave the meadow saddle to the right and again cross exposed to the south base wall. Secured by rope, descend over rocky ledges and roots along the base of the wall. A narrow traverse leads to a short ladder, which goes quite exposed almost vertically up a rocky larch gully. Over simple rock steps, we climb westward to the long ladder. The inclined long ladder overcomes a brittle rocky gully in the west rock. Above this, we now climb without protection in larch gullies in an S-shape up to the south ridge and over a few small blocks to the small summit plateau with the summit cross.
