This route starts at the Waller Alm / Speck Alm inn (there is a place to stop for refreshments) at Sudelfeld. Over the summit of Vogelsang, it continues to the small Traithen.
The start of the just under 1 1/2 hour tour is at Sudelfeld, parking lot at the Waller Alm / Speck Alm inn. The path leads you past the flight and landing site, here keep left and immediately afterwards turn right towards the Vogelsang summit. At the summit, continue to the next peak, the small Traithen. The path from Vogelsang to the small Traithen is mostly very rocky and contains climbing sections. The path is mostly secured with ropes. Anyone doing the tour to the small Traithen must be sure-footed and have no fear of heights! Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with a great view.
Author’s recommendation
From the small Traithen, you can continue to the large Traithen. Walking time from the small Traithen is about 1 hour. A head for heights and sure-footedness are required!

The hike to the small Traithen starts at the Waller Alm / Speck Alm inn. You can easily reach the parking lot by car. From here, walk past the flight and landing site; at a fork in the path, keep left and shortly afterwards a narrow hiking trail branches off to the right towards the Vogelsang summit. At the top of the Vogelsang summit, you already have a great view of the surrounding mountain world. Continue to the foot of the small Traithen via a narrow hiking trail. The path from Vogelsang to the small Traithen is mostly very rocky and contains climbing sections. The path is mostly secured with ropes. After a steeper section, which in some places is secured with steel cables and crampons, you reach the summit of the small Traithen, crowned with a wrought iron cross. A head for heights and sure-footedness are required! Here you deserve a break and can relax while enjoying the view before returning via the same path. Alternatively, you can continue to the large Traithen. (Walking time about 1 hour, sure-footedness is required!)

Directions
From Munich, take the A8 motorway towards Salzburg. At the Inntal triangle, take the A93 exit towards Kufstein, Innsbruck, and Brenner. After about 20 km driving south, you will reach the Oberaudorf motorway exit.
Take the Oberaudorf exit, then at the intersection turn left towards Oberaudorf. After entering the town, turn right onto Kranzhornstraße and follow the signs for "Niederaudorf, Sudelfeld, Bayrischzell." Follow the road (priority turn left onto Geigelsteinstraße) and after the railway underpass turn right onto the main road (Rosenheimer Straße). Follow the main road to Niederaudorf. After the Auerbach, at the intersection follow the sign to the left (Tatzelwurmstraße) and follow it for about 8 km (partly narrow and steep road). After the "Feuriger Tatzlwurm" hotel, you reach a large T-junction; turn left here (towards Bayrischzell). After some curves, take the left exit to Rosengassen. Here keep right and follow signs to Waller Alm / Speck Alm until you reach the parking lot.
