From the hiking parking lot between Einsiedl and Obernach, follow the forest road branching off westwards towards Simetsberg / Eschenlohe up to the 903 m high "Taferl", the watershed between Walchensee and Loisach. Shortly after the "Taferl", turn left and continue southwards for about 1.5 km along the forest road. Then turn right (trail sign Simetsberg) and take the footpath in switchbacks through the forest. Continue on an old track up to the Simetsberg service hut. From here, follow a path westwards to the summit. Descending takes 2 hours back to Einsiedl (or about 2.5 hours to Wallgau).
