From the top station of the Kristbergbahn, first head south, slightly downhill along the "Riedboden" ski lift. Almost at the end of the Litz, turn slightly left towards the Upper Wasserstubenalpe. Follow this farm road to the Lower Wasserstubenalpe and after a few hundred meters to a fork. Take the left path up to the Gretschalpe. Follow the signs upwards. Shortly before the Gretschsee, turn left; everything is well signposted. Pass the Gretschsee, go uphill over the scree field, pass the summit of Kirchli (on the right-hand side), and continue following the markings to the summit of Lobspitze.
On the way back from the summit, I took a different path down towards the Rinder valley (= Gaflunatal) to the "Golden Borst". From there you reach the Upper Gaflunaalpe. Take the right path again, slightly uphill, until you reach the summit of Fellimännle.
There take the northern path towards Gretscher See and Gretschalpe. When you reach the valley floor in the Wassertubental, follow the forest road on the left uphill to Wildried, the beautiful moor area. Continue leisurely along this forest road, mostly slightly downhill, to the top station of the Kristbergbahn.
Alternatively, you could turn left downhill earlier and walk via Stieralpe Oberbuchen and Unterbuchen to the valley station on foot.
