Wild ridge ride high above Lake Walen.
The Sichelchamm is located in the Alvier group at the eastern end of Lake Walen. Its name comes from the sickle-shaped rock fold on the west flank, which is especially striking from Lake Walen. There is no hiking trail to the mountain, but the Sichelchamm offers some demanding T5 and T6 routes for alpinists. The nicest is surely the sun-drenched south ridge, also called “Chnorren.” A great alpine adventure when there is already snow elsewhere! The ridge features airy rock and dwarf pine scrambling at its finest. In the grassy areas, a good track has meanwhile formed, which softens the sharpness of the ridge somewhat.
