Roadbook
Ascent:
The starting point is the parking lot of the Piz Sorega gondola, from which we go back a short distance and cross the stream, then turn onto hiking trail 11 towards Armentarola. In Armentarola, we keep right on trails 15a and 18 (Iron Path) until we meet a small road in front of the Hotel Gran Uncei. Here we keep right, walk past the hotel, and turn onto hiking trail 24a, which takes us through the forest onto a wide forest road (prepared in winter).
We ascend comfortably, and soon we reach wide alpine meadows and two small huts after leaving the forest. Here we leave the main path to the left and cross, slightly uphill on a small path, the alpine meadows until we meet trail 24. We turn left onto this trail and either climb steeply through a slope to a small forepeak or go around it on the left. Afterwards, the route continues fairly comfortably along the ridge towards the summit. The last 100 vertical meters are somewhat steeper, and the path zigzags through some rocks but is never difficult or exposed.
From the summit, we enjoy an unobstructed panoramic view of Civetta, Sella, Marmolada, Piz Boè, Lavarela, and many other 3000-meter peaks of the region.
Descent:
Same as ascent.
Ski tourers return to the first forepeak (stone cairn) and then keep left to the Pralongia gondola, from where they take the piste down to San Cassiano.
