The ridge to the Schwarzhorn is easily accessible from the Golmer cable car and promises easy climbing (up to II) with views over the entire Montafon including well-known peaks like Drusenfluh, Zimba, and Sulzfluh.
The route should only be attempted in safe weather conditions, as there are no escapes along the way.

Roadbook
At the beginning, you orient yourself towards Alpilaalpe and the Tschaggunser Mittagsspitze. When you reach the saddle to the Mittagsspitze, however, you go right towards the west instead of east onto the rocky section of the Mittagsspitze.
The path leads to the Schwarzhornsattel and splits here. On the maps, only one path continues around the Schwarzhorn on the east side. We follow the trail directly towards the ridge. You soon see a track that leads to the first rocky section in the ridge. From afar, this looks more difficult than it is.
Afterwards follows a grassy slope, which should be ascended as far right as possible so you can enjoy the entire ridge. Further left, the ridge continues. On the ridge, follow the tracks and cairns. If in doubt, climb directly over the rocks (climbing grade II).
After the summit, you can already see the gendarme you must cross. You clearly see the gap in the upper part through which you climb. There are climbing sections up to II again here. Route finding is aided by fixed bolts.
On the other side, you must downclimb a slab once more; then the further descent continues along tracks and lightly worn paths. Here, some detours lead to dead ends, as do many paths leading down. You need some feel for this.
In the black notch, you see a ridge of black volcanic rock, which gives the mountain its name. The further descent is according to signs via Alpilaalpe or the Lindauer Hut.
