No major challenge for those accustomed to mountain hikingRoadbook
The starting point is the Hofer Hof in the rear Schalderertal. Alternatively, you can also start in Steinwendt.
First, you follow the well-developed forest road almost flat until you reach the Kammerbach. There you cross the stream and make a 90-degree turn to the left. From now on, the path is marked. After about 20 minutes, you reach the path coming up from Steinwendt (No. 4). Follow this to the Schalderer Scharte, which is located at 2,324 m. Here, you could descend to Durnholz and continue from there by public transport (a tip for another route :-)).
However, we turn right, follow the marking to the summit, which is already clearly visible.
The descent now does not follow the ascent path but follows the marking 4B down to the Pfannscharte. First over slightly rocky terrain and then a bit steeper down over rock blocks. But easy to manage for those accustomed to hiking.
From the Pfannscharte, it goes down over meadows and pine fields before you enter the forest. Everything is very well marked. As soon as you leave the forest, you walk flat over a beautiful meadow and then reach the sheep hut. Here you initially follow the access road and then turn right again, back down through the forest.
The last part is again a forest road and eventually you come back to the starting point.
Overall, a beautiful and not difficult circular route.
