The Scheiberkogel is the nearest peak to the Zwickauer Hut. It is not far from the hut. Several paths lead to the summit. The easiest is the one over the Planferner, which can be crossed easily without a rope with proper caution. Those who prefer to avoid the glacier can also tackle the entire rocky south ridge from the Zwickauer Hut with a bit more altitude loss.

The ascent over the Rotmoosjoch is exposed. In the upper, steeper area of the Planferner, there are partly larger crevasses.Roadbook
From Pfelders (Zeppichler Street), following the signs on a marked trail steeply up to the Zwickauer Hut. Shortly behind the hut, about 50 meters along the ridge towards Seelenkogel, a faint trail (few cairns) branches off to the right. You descend briefly and then traverse the bowl as high as possible in a curve until you reach the Planferner. From there, slightly below the flattest spot at about 3000 m, head eastwards to the SSW ridge. As long as you stay in the flat area, you can do without a rope. However, be careful of crevasses when ascending the glacier towards Rotmoosjoch. Leave the glacier at about 3020 m to the right and climb a steep SW gully (faint trail) easily over scree to the ridge, then (max. I) to the summit. To the left of the summit slope, there are also faint trail markings.
