From the Hinterettenberg parking lot (Rossboden) ascend onto the forest path, after about 20 minutes there is a sharp left turn, go straight ahead here over the bridge. Continue on the path until a large stone stands on the right, here an unmarked path branches off to the left, leading steeply upwards. The path leads through the forest, then over the Hochkampschneid, a small ridge that requires surefootedness.
