Just above Gasthof Ortner, you can park the car in a left curve; this is also where the ascent to Scheibenberg starts, which leads steeply upwards. After about an hour, you reach Scheibenberg with a good view over the Brixen valley basin.
From here, a very nice path leads over to the Zirmai Alm (refreshments available in summer). From this alpine pasture, you can still climb the Karspitz, which is by no means difficult and easily doable for those accustomed to walking.
Back to the Zirmai Alm, you return to the starting point via its ascent path.
