The Schaflahnernock, at 2703 meters, is not the highest peak above the Nevesstausee, but it offers a wide-reaching view of the surrounding 3000-meter peaks of the Zillertal Alps and their glacier world. You also look down on the shimmering Tristensee below. The summit can also be reached by a slightly longer ascent via Weißenbach. In autumn, this route is especially recommended as a sunrise route from the Chemnitzerhütte, as the sun then shines exactly through the hole in the middle of the cross.
