From the parking lot, part of the mountain ridge is already visible, over which our path will lead us to the summit of Sas di Stria. Initially, the path runs moderately between rocks and meadows until after about 15 minutes a small plateau is reached, on which some small rustic crosses are set up. These are reminders of the First World War and its consequences for the region.
Immediately after this plateau, we reach the positions through which we will hike to the summit. Partly, it goes very narrowly through, through short tunnel sections and over some steep ladders. After a total of about 50 minutes, we finally reach the historically significant summit. After a comfortable break with a view of the Kleine Lagazuoi, we head back, with a short detour to a small hidden viewpoint. For this, we leave the main path at a wooden passage and turn left. A tunnel leads us through a very distinctive rock, over a small gravel area, and back into the mountain. Over a very steep wooden ladder, it goes up in the dark (headlamp necessary) and finally onto a gallery with a dreamlike view of the Kleine Lagazuoi!
Finally, the return is on the ascent route with a short detour at a small delicate cross a little above the memorial crosses that we visited on the ascent.
