    Roadbook

From Sonnenalpe Nassfeld past the hotels heading west, through a tunnel and on the asphalt road to Tressdorfer Alm, about 40 minutes. From there follow trail or gravel path no. 125 heading south, past the rock labyrinth with various leisure facilities and the summer toboggan run to the signpost “Rossalm”. There are now 2 options:

Option A: to Rossalm and further to the border crossing: We follow a romantic path running between the ski slopes to the idyllic Rossalm, farmed in summer. From there continue south on path 403, over pistes and past a storage pond to Nassfeld Pass, total walking time 2 ½ to 3 hours. Return along the federal road.

    or

Option B: to Madritsche, 1909 m, and from there down to the border crossing:

We do not go to Rossalm but stay on the gravel path, from which there are wonderful views of the Julian Alps. In about 35 minutes we reach Tressdorfer Höhe, characterized by lift and cable car mountain stations. Beautiful views to the Tauern and to Trogkofel opposite in the west. Slightly ascending to the summit of Madritsche, there is an adventure playground with lots of water. We follow the signposts along the border to Nassfeld and descend on path 403 to Nassfeld Pass, partly using the same path as in option 1. Total walking time about 3 – 4 hours. Return to the starting point along the federal road.
