Summit, low and its double opposite on the Vercors side, the Dent de Moirans watch over the exit of the Isère which quietly heads towards the Rhône and the entrance of clouds carrying rain and snow pushed by the North winds. Remarkable viewpoint over the valleys, it is an ideal half-day walk

Description (D) Park at the Bret Gorges parking lot on the D128 between Saint-Julien-de-Raz and Coublevie. (D/A) Head due South opposite the parking lot on the wide trail marked Yellow. Stay on this trail, ignoring all paths that appear either on the right or on the left. Through some switchback turns reach a cross, base dated 1903, cross dated 2003. Reach an important crossroads of 2 trails. (1) Take the one on the right. Walk calmly on this particularly flat trail to reach the hamlet of Grand Ratz. (2) On about a hundred meters, find the paved road crossing this hamlet. Ignore the road to the left at the junction to take the wide stoned path leading to the Grands Bois (sign). Follow this path always marked Yellow. Reach a first crossroads, leave the path on the left to quickly reach a large intersection. (2) Then follow the outward path to return to the parking lot (D/A).
