Alpine paths on the well-known viewpoint mountain at Lake Lucerne - this way you certainly avoid the tourist crowds!
Rigi has been developed for tourism early on due to its remarkable view of Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug. Two cogwheel railways and several cable cars bring tourists from near and far to the "Queen of the Mountains." Those who want to avoid the crowds and honestly earn the beautiful view will find many options for demanding routes on the steep and wild north side. The most popular variant, no longer a secret tip, is the northwest ridge, the so-called "Arschbagge." Several conglomerate bands are climbed here with the help of knob cables. One spot is quite smooth and has few footholds - hence probably the name Arschbagge. Besides the Arschbagge, there is also the Leiterliweg on the northeast flank, a path that, as the name suggests, features some ladders and secured sections and is even less frequented.
