Via the Zwickauer Hut to the summit. It is the highest point of a heavily glaciated ridge descending northward towards the innermost Ötztal, with three summits: the Front, the Middle, and the Rear Seelenkogel, the highest of the three.
From the village center in Pfelders in the eponymous valley branching off near Moos (1622 m) northwards over a bridge and across the stream, then continuously on path 6 A through steep grassy slopes interspersed with rocky sections and alder bushes up to Schneidalm (2159 m, snack station, 1:30 hrs) and then partially over scree slopes and rocky steep terrain in a long ascent further up to the Zwickauer Hut (2980 m; from Schneidalm 2:30 hrs); overnight stay here if the route is split over two days, which is recommended. – From the hut, follow the red markers along the east ridge mostly on trail tracks over boulders and slabs steeply and partly exposed (some sections are secured with ropes, sometimes a steep firn field must be crossed) up to the summit (3470 m; from hut 1:30 hrs). – The descent is via the ascent route.
