The Rappenspitze is accessible both via the Upital as well as via the steep Ramudeltal and the Schlandrauntal. Under good conditions, a traverse (ascent via the somewhat more difficult northeast ridge (II), descent via the south ridge (I-II)) is also possible. Under snow conditions in early summer and autumn, the ascent and descent via the south ridge is rather recommended. This is reached via the Upital and the Upikopf or via the Ramudeltal. In both the Upital (at least up to Upialm) and the Schlandrauntal (at least up to Kortscher Alm), the e-bike eases the approach.

The Rappenspitze is somewhat hidden between Ramudelkopf and Hochalt but still offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Vinschgau three-thousanders.

    Author’s recommendation

With the e-bike, you can ride at least as far as the Upialm. This saves you nearly 500 meters of altitude.

    Roadbook

With the e-bike (as an alternative to walking), you ride steeply up a forest road directly behind the Glieshof into the Upital to the Upialm. No later than at an altitude of 2300 m in the valley bottom after the alm, you must continue on foot.

Further on the marked trail number 9 (in mid-November snow usually lies only where the sun no longer reaches) and difficult to the Upikopf with summit cross.

Directly from the summit, you descend unmarked northside down to a notch at 3060 m. Shortly before the notch, there is a grade II section. This can also be bypassed on the west side. From the notch directly steeply up over the ridge (I) to a small saddle and further along the ridge (one grade II section) to the summit.

Return via the ascent route including 120 m counter-ascent back to the Upikopf and then back to the starting point at Glieshof.
