Rappensee Cabin

From Lechleiten, the trail follows a very gentle ascent past beautiful alpine meadows and partially dilapidated alpine huts, small lakes, and the Biberkopf on the way to the Bavaria-Tyrol border. The section through the Mutzentobel requires a head for heights and sure-footedness. First comes a relatively steep descent into the ravine, followed by a narrow trail through steep terrain to the Drehkreuz. From there, a footpath climbs gently to the first viewpoint, offering views toward Oberstdorf (ski jump), the Enzianhütte, and far into the Allgäu region. Now it’s on to the final ascent to the Rapenseehütte.
