Circular route climbing towards the Carriata cirque, following the Racón ledge and descending through the Cotatuero ravine.
The ledge is located below the level of the Faja de las Flores and runs along the entire base of the Punta Gallinero wall. Its route begins at the end of the Salarons ravine, where the Carriata Cirque starts, and goes to the Cotatuero Cirque, where you can enjoy excellent views of Tozal del Mallo, the Cotatuero Waterfall, and the Ordesa Valley.
From the parking at La Pradera, we will go back along the access road to the valley until we reach a large stone house called "Casa de Oliván," where we will find the first sign indicating the trail towards the Racón ledge, Carriata Cirque, and Tozal del Mallo.
The trail climbs through a beech and fir forest, parallel to the Salarons ravine until reaching a wooden cabin-refuge. We continue along the trail and arrive at a signposted crossroads, already in the Carriata cirque, where the ledge begins. We will follow towards the Racón ledge and Cotatuero Cirque. We will cross the start of the Gallinero ravine and continue until we begin to spot the Cotatuero cirque and ravine, with its large waterfall in the background. We will reach new signposted paths towards the Cotatuero pegs and Brecha de Rolando, which we will not follow. The trail continues steeply downhill until reaching another cabin-refuge and the crossroads indicating the Canarellos ledge, on the other side of the Cotatuero ravine, which we will also not follow. We continue along the right bank of the ravine until linking up with the Pradera path, which we will follow back to the starting point.
