Punta Castellacciu and Monte Senino, Corsica
The route initially follows a piste road towards Capu Castellacciu, then proceeds southeast through the Corsican maquis. The ascent of Capu Castellacciu mostly takes place on the northern side and offers shade in the morning hours.
The ascent of Monte Senino, on the other hand, often switches mountain sides: first descending and ascending on the southern side, then switching to the northern side. At the next "notch," switch again to the southern side and finally reach the summit via the southeast slope.

You will find a very good route description in the Rother hiking guide by Klaus Wolfsperger. The own description serves as a supplement.
From the parking lot, follow the piste road (image 2) southeast (slightly downhill and then slightly uphill). Where the piste road leads down to the Gulf of Girolata, a path branches off to the southeast (image 3). Take this path and initially go moderately uphill past a wall (image 4). The path now shifts to the north side of Capu Castellacciu. The path becomes steep here. Orientation is provided by the very, very many stone men (image 7). The distance between them is sometimes only one meter. Along the way, there are nice views of the Gulf of Girolata. Shortly before the summit (10 meters elevation), a gully with red rock leads up to the "ski pole" which serves as the summit cross (image 10). A small stacked wall invites you to picnic with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Girolata. It takes about 60-75 minutes to reach here.
Then descend the gully and now follow the path to the left. First towards the southeast, then downhill to the south (image 12). On the south side, there is a crossing at reddish rocks (images 13, 14) before climbing uphill again to a notch and reaching the north side again. From here, the path continues not quite as steep until reaching the next notch. A rock wall about 40-50 meters high blocks the way forward and descends southwards, either through the underbrush or a slanted rock slab (image 16). The path veers right and then leads to a hidden gully that you climb (images 18-20). The final ascent is exposed again to the sun (image 21) and leads west to the summit, about an hour from Capu Castellacciu.
