The estate of Finca pública Es Menut is of Moorish origin. Today the Balearic Ministry of the Environment maintains a nursery here, where young plants are cultivated and seeds of endemic plants collected.
The Lluc monastery in a valley basin of the Tramuntana Mountains is an important pilgrimage site attracting pilgrims from around the world. The Madonna inside a small chapel of the monastery church is famous, and the monastery also offers an interesting museum. The Lluc sanctuary lies on the long-distance hiking trail GR 221, which upgrades parts of this route to a pilgrimage path.

Route description: See also detailed "time-distance diagram in the image gallery".
ASCENT: From the parking lot at the Finca pública Es Menut, pass on the left and immediately turn right at the marker post. Slightly uphill we pass a water channel, a flat area, and come to a forest road, which we follow to the left. The morning-shady road (holm oaks) gets steeper and one reaches the GR-221 and the saddle "Coll Pelat" at 686 m. Continue to the left and descend slightly to an information board (650 m). Straight ahead, leaving the forest road, we come to a dilapidated stone building. Small uphill sections and a gate which we climb over on stone steps lead us to the turnaround spot on the asphalt road, Coll des Pedregaret 658 m, our return route. Now the real mountain route starts on the right on hiking path 2. Uphill through the forest, at a wooden post (775 m) a slight descent and to another distinctive wooden post around 845 m. Shortly thereafter is a chain (860 m), then steeply up to the scenic ridge notch at 890 m. Climb over, descend a few meters again and rise right in a protective gully to the "key point" (955-965 m), which is easily negotiated with a chain and foot pegs. Around 1000 m we reach a high plateau, at 1045 m we see the summit to the left, which we head towards while observing the stone cairns. A small hollow, then the concrete post of Puig Tomir (1104 m) is reached. Wonderful viewpoint summit to the bays of Pollença and d'Alcúdia, but also to Massanella and Inca. 625 m ascent and about 1 1/2 hours ascent time, reasonably brisk.
DESCENT: Back the ascent route and at the hollow (1050 m) to the stone cairn at the southwest summit (~1080 m). Then off-trail to the ascent path and left via the key point (965 m) and the ridge notch (890 m) to the asphalt road at Coll des Pedregaret 658 m. Right comfortable to the drinking water filling station Binifaldó (585 m) and with a slight uphill to Finca Menut and the parking lot (570 m). 75 m descent and nearly 1 1/2 hours.
Total: 695 m elevation gain, 3 hours walking time over about 9.5 km distance.
Cultural visit recommended afterwards, visit the nearby Lluc monastery!
Südwestgipfel ~1080m
