Near the end of the ascent, there is a great view of Bohinjsko Jezero and the surrounding mountains. A small, slightly exposed climbing section of UIAA grade I must be overcome. The summit is reached after about two and a half hours.
A magnificent view of the Pokljuka plateau with its dense forests opens up. You can even see the mountain village of Zajmaniki in the distance. The mountain ranges beyond Bohinjsko Jezero and the Spodnje Bohinske mountains come into view. Here you have an unobstructed view of the Triglav massif.
(2) On the other side, the descent goes more moderately through rocky terrain towards Planina pri Jezero (Alm by the lake). Shortly after the summit you reach the Majska jama cave. The path continues through a sea of flowers to Planina Viševnik. There are a few alpine huts there, one of which is operated. The path leads over open terrain across the Alm and then downhill over rock shaped and polished by ancient glaciers and primeval seas. Shortly before Planina pri Jezero there is another cave just above the path. The entrance is circular. After the first bend, however, a rather narrow crawl space (crawl passage) begins.
Soon after you reach Planina pri Jezero where the Koča na Planini pri Jezero also stands (hut by the Alm at the lake). This is an operated hut of the Slovenian Alpine Association. It is worth taking a break here. By the Alm lies a small mountain lake. The name of the lake is Jezero pri Planina (lake by the Alm).
The lake lies idyllically between rock faces and pines on one side and meadow and reeds on the other.
From the hut the route continues a bit on a cart track into the forest. The path branches off to a trail which then leads relatively level through the forest for some distance. A few fallen trees force a detour. The path ends at the road you drove up. This must be followed for a few more minutes until after about a total of five hours of walking time the car is reached.
