Easy climbing route to the highest peak of the Chaîne des Aravis (T5+).
The mountain range Chaîne des Aravis lies opposite the Mont-Blanc massif and thus offers an excellent view of the roof of the Alps. The Chaîne des Aravis consists of many jagged peaks, the highest of which is the Pointe Percée. The shape already implies that this mountain is not easy to conquer. In addition to numerous climbing routes, there are two paths that experienced climbers can do without a rope. Besides the normal route through the west flank (T5, climbing I-II), there is a route through the south face, the "Cheminées de Sallanches." This is somewhat more demanding than the normal route (T5+, climbing II+), but it is less busy and the rock is less eroded there. If you feel comfortable at difficulty level II, this route is preferable for the ascent over the normal route. The route can be done as a day trip from Le Grand-Bornand, or you can stay overnight in the freshly renovated Refuge de la Pointe Percée.
