Long but not too difficult ridge walk in northern Ticino.
There are many challenging multi-day alpine ridge hikes in Ticino (Via Alta Verzasca, Via Alta Vallemaggia, Via Idra...). An easier ridge hike at a lower altitude can be found between Bleniotal and Valle Leventina. This ridge does not need to hide in terms of views; the nearby Adula group with the highest Ticino mountain and the glaciated Bernese Alps on the horizon accompany us on the way towards the Gotthard. The ridge path between Matro and Motto Crostel ranges from difficulty T3 to T4 and is sporadically marked white-blue-white. The markings are sometimes spaced so far apart that you do not always see the next one. The trail is not continuously present and sometimes exhausting block fields must be crossed, so the length of the tour should not be underestimated. Since the start and end points of the tour are not the same, it is best to travel by public transport. You can leave your car at Faido or Lavorgo train stations.
