The rocky Pizzo Arera is one of the most striking mountains of the Bergamasque Prealps. Its bright limestone summit stands out from the densely forested surroundings. The ascent via the normal route to the summit is quite short thanks to the high-altitude parking, and if it weren't for the climbing section in the Canalino, the route would probably be crowded. The east ridge is quieter, but the crossing back still holds some surprises...
