Solitary mountain route in the Münstertal. Especially beautiful in autumn when the larches are golden (T3).
The “Little Tower Mountain” is an almost 3000-meter peak between Val Mustair and Val Mora. Although the name suggests otherwise, the hiking path to the summit poses no major alpine challenges. The name comes from the numerous towers of the west ridge, but the summit itself is an elongated rubble ridge. The ascent takes place beside the block glacier on the north flank – which is snow-free only in high summer. Towards the end of the season, it is wise to carry crampons or microspikes for safety. The summit is much less frequented than the nearby almost equally high Piz Daint, which is easier to reach from the Ofen Pass. The longer ascent to Piz Turettas is worthwhile if you want to admire the golden larches in autumn. The summit offers a beautiful view of Ortler.
