Interesting walk with a stretch that follows the slope of the Corno Bianco for expert walkers. Return through a more gentle route.

From the Pietralba car park, ascend via comfortable forest roads. Just before Lanheralm, leave the easy path to climb trails first through the woods, then on bare ground until reaching the summit separating the Bletterbach and the valley with Passo Oclini. Here the path is exactly at the highest point and climbs with slight exposure towards the Corno Bianco. After crossing with the Höhenweg, the path becomes more exposed, rocky, and steep with several sections equipped with ropes. At the end, you reach the summit cross from where you enjoy a splendid 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains. From here, descend towards Passo Oclini along a path busy with tourists. Once at the pass, continue descending to Malga Ora where a lunch break is suggested. From there, return to Pietralba. Several paths are possible, but we chose the forest road up to Capanna Nuova with a subsequent detour to Malga Monte San Pietro before arriving at the Sanctuary.

    Author’s recommendation

Several interesting aspects of the route: quick visit to the Sanctuary, view of the Bletterbach (natural geological park) and beautiful panoramas from the Corno Bianco. Nice that you always see the Horn when you look around during the walk.

    Safety information

Pay attention to the top stretch to get to the Corno due to slightly exposed sections and ropes. If necessary, use the path that passes around the Corno and climb to the summit afterwards.
