Over Monte Faierone

On well-maintained paths, the mountain route leads us to the scenic summit of Monte Faierone. We start our route in the beautiful village of Sant‘Agata above Lago Maggiore. From there, we walk along small lanes through typically Italian villages. The view always sweeps over the sparkling waters of Lago Maggiore. Soon we reach the old burial sites of San Bartolomeo in Montibus. Now we climb uphill on a beautiful path through the forest to the alpine settlement of L'Agher. Above the settlement, we quickly reach the tree line and enjoy the view of the surrounding valleys and Lago Maggiore. Over the mountain ridge, we reach the summit of Monte Faierone. From there, the view extends over Lago Maggiore to the peaks of the Valais mountain world. After a leisurely break, we begin the descent. Over a scenic path, we reach the small village of Scierz and then follow the well-developed paths back to Sant‘Agata.
