The whole world considers Monte Baldo to be the largest and highest mountain in the Garda region. The former is guaranteed to be true, the not quite. Monte Cadria, a mighty lump with furrowed flanks, which rises flanks, which rises to the west above the Valle dei Concei, is a tad a tad higher, exactly 36 metres. The panorama from its panorama from its summit is on a par with that of the Cima Valdritta (2218 m). is on a par with that of the Cima Valdritta (2218 m). What is missing, however, is the dreamlike view of the large lake that characterises all the elevations of Monte Baldo. But the Cadria tour has another advantage: it leads into silence. silence. Monte Cadria - not a mass destination, but a very worthwhile one.
The summit tour starts on the road that leads from the Valle dei Molini up to Malga Vies (1556 m) – an arduous task. The track, cemented at the steepest ramps, runs largely in the forest, there’s hardly any view, only now and then the rocky eastern slopes of the Cadria peak, furrowed by grass, appear briefly. On the alpine pasture there is a rather weathered boundary stone from 1735 in the meadow on the right. The path continues up a grassy slope to a rocky outcrop; behind it the wide alpine pasture of Malga Cadria (1914 m) opens up. Soon the summit goal comes into view, the route of the former war path can be made out on the long, rocky ridge: the ascent path. The (renovated) alpine pasture buildings of Cadria remain on the left; a signpost points to Monte Cadria on the right. The former war path, which is only partially intact, climbs up the rocky slope and out to the base of the ridge. The artistically designed route follows it, sometimes running to the right, then again to the left
