Monte Zugna
The itinerary follows the military mule track crossing the ruins of barracks (altitude 1775m) and other service buildings built by the Austro-Hungarian army in anticipation of the fortress construction that was to be excavated beneath the mountain's summit. Most striking is the large stone impluvium occupying a good part of the steep slope at the edge of the plateau, covering nearly 600 square meters. Once at the summit, the panorama extends 360 degrees from Pasubio, the Little Dolomites, Lessinia, Monte Vignola, and Altissimo above the Adige valley, and further west to the summit of Carè Alto and the Brenta Dolomites group, reaching as far as the Palon summit of Bondone and the city of Trento.

Roadbook
Leaving your car near the Monte Zugna Refuge, follow the well-marked path to Monte Zugna. Initially, you walk on a fairly comfortable military mule track (sign 115) that passes beside the astronomical observatory and reaches a fork where the ruins of the military hospital and the wartime shelter buildings dating back to the Great War are found. Here, continue straight and ascend on the path/mule track heading towards Monte Zugna along a route that is not particularly steep. You reach the panoramic summit in no more than 20/30 minutes from the Malga Zugna Refuge. Return follows the same route.
