On this mountain route, you pass through the beech forest from which the striking, rocky summit rises, offering a magnificent view all the way to Cap Corse. The ascent of the massive summit block Monte San Pedone, with its large wooden summit cross, involves some easy scrambling. To the right of the summit, there is a metal cross on the rocks, next to it a small statue of a saint and a plaque with a wind rose and viewing plan. The view is breathtaking. The main ridge of the Corsican mountains can be seen in its full extent from northeast to southeast. To the north, we see Cap Corse, and to the east, in good weather, the islands of Elba and Montecristo. Deep below us in the northeast, we also spot our starting point.
