Monte Pegherolo presents some rock difficulties, but there are almost always chains in the most challenging sections where you need to use your hands. In my opinion, the riskiest point is a literally tightrope-walking section about 4 or 5 meters long, on the ridge (located at the lowest point of the connecting saddle on the ridge between Monte Cavallino and Pegherolo). On the outward track I took, I bypassed it with a traverse on the easy slope to the right of the ridge (the route at some point deviates from the normal ridge path), then you ascend again by an easy grassy ridge reconnecting with the normal ridge. In any case, this detour is not without difficulty because the terrain is not very clean (full of debris) which can make you slip, though the slope is not steep.

Poles are useful on the ridge between Cavallino and Pegherolo at the most difficult points. Avoid if wet or not dry, the ridge to Pegherolo is already quite difficult when dry.Roadbook
Route always well marked (impossible to get lost or lose orientation), from the parking follow towards Passo di San Simone and then before the pass turn left for Monte Cavallino passing below Monte Cavallo by the obvious organ pipes. After bypassing Monte Cavallo, ascend the scree to the saddle (between Monte Cavallo and the ridge to Cavallino). Then continue along the ridge to Monte Cavallino (there are some sections equipped with chains at the most dangerous points). The route is quite easy up to Monte Cavallino (be a bit careful on the scree) and the ridge is fairly easy. After Monte Cavallino the ridge becomes a bit more difficult. The critical point is at the saddle (between the descent from Cavallino and the ascent to Pegherolo), due to a tightrope passage. In the recorded track it is bypassed descending the right side of the ridge (losing about 15m of elevation and continuing with an easy traverse on a not steep slope, maintaining the same elevation until climbing up to another ridge line on the horizon, then follow by turning left (this ridge is wide and grassy), towards the normal ridge). In any case the normal route follows the ridge, the panic section is about 4 or 5 meters long (done downhill), either keep very low center of gravity, almost sitting, or use poles; the ridge width only allows one foot at a time. After this point the ridge becomes easier again, still requiring caution due to loose and brittle rock, which can break under your weight. At this point having done the entire connecting ridge to the base of Pegherolo summit, ascend the summit. The last 50/100m of elevation, to be done carefully but without special difficulty or danger, due to chains almost always present. Always be careful in some points of loose and exposed rock without chains.
