Monte Musinè is the "1000-meter peak" closest to the big city of Turin. This and the fact that the gigantic 15 m high summit cross is also visible from the valley make the mountain a well-known and popular excursion destination. In good weather, you have views of Turin, the Susa Valley, and well-known mountains like Rocciamelone, Gran Paradiso, and Monte Rosa. The summit is popular not only with hikers but also with trail runners. Paths lead to the summit from all directions, with the shortest ascent being via the southeast ridge from the village of Caselette. However, this sun-exposed path should be avoided on hot days. An alternative route goes through the green eastern flank and is therefore also pleasant to walk on hot days. Both paths can be nicely combined into a loop. Due to the scrambling sections before the summit, the route is classified as a T3 hike.
