Monte Fumadiga, a hidden gem in the Italian Alps, is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers. With its majestic height, this mountain not only offers breathtaking views, but also countless opportunities for sporting activities in unspoiled nature. Our tour starts in the small Ticino village of Mergugno. Right from the start, we climb steadily and quickly gain altitude. In the lower part, we are accompanied by chestnut forests, while further up the landscape opens up to reveal a panoramic view of Lake Maggiore. During our ascent, we pass prominent peaks such as the one above Alpe Naccio, which is marked by a striking summit cross. From there, we have a view of the lake around 1300 meters below. The change in scenery continues; with increasing altitude, rocks and circular alpine grasslands appear.
