From Chiessi, climb up the concrete steps between the houses and, after a wire mesh fence, turn right onto the junction for path 103. With wonderful views of Chiessi, it leads along the cairns to the signposted junction for the ascent path to the ruins of the Chiesa di San Bartolomeo. To the right of the saddle is a remnant of the southern wall of the Romanesque church, below the mighty rocky peak of Monte San Bartolomeo. Return to the junction and continue right along path 103, soon somewhat flatter below the Colle di San Bartlomeo, to the signposts at La Terra. Turn right here on the GTE towards La Tavola. The path leads steeply past the junction to Caprile della Tabella and shortly afterwards to the left fork in the path to Caprile di Natalino, a stone dwelling of the goatherds. On the right, a few tracks of grazing animals lead you through the bushes of the maquis and soon you are climbing without a path over boulders and blocks to the summit of Monte di Cote.
