Monte Daino is one of the few climbable summits in the series of popular Brenta via ferratas leading to Rif. Pedrotti.
If you're looking for a climbable summit experience after reaching Rifugio Pedrotti, Monte Daino southeast of the hut is worth considering. Marked by cairns. From the summit ridge, however, light scrambling in exposed, pathless terrain requires surefootedness.
Author’s recommendation
During a stay at Rifugio Pedrotti, the long day route becomes a pleasant short route (e.g., as a summit stage before the descent or as a summit victory before the classic via ferratas...)!

Hut ascent (approx. 950 m altitude gain) from Rif. Vallesinella: After the bridge over the Sarca di Vallesinella, a wide hiking trail (No. 317) leads through dense forest via countless wooden steps in a few hairpin bends up the steep slope in just under an hour to Rifugio Casinei (1825m) with a beautiful view of Monte Caré Alto and Cima Presanella. The well-developed Sentiero dei Brentei (No. 318) now becomes noticeably narrower, the forest thins and is replaced by dwarf pines. Slightly ascending with short descents, the path winds along a wide ledge on the northern slopes higher up. Shortly, it climbs through a rock crevice, then along a narrower rock ledge (Galleria Bogani), somewhat secured with rope and railing, quite pleasantly and with ever more spectacular views onto the large terrace of Rifugio Brentei (2182m) opposite the Crozzon di Brenta or Cima Tosa. From here on, it gradually becomes more alpine, the trail narrower and rockier. Slightly ascending, one approaches the already visible Bocca di Brenta past the huge scree and boulder fields of Campanile Alto and Basso and Cima Brenta Alta. A small snowfield leads to a rock barrier (A), which is climbed band-like secured with a steel cable. Either over a steep slope with large blocks or over the steep snowfield to the right, one reaches the Bocca di Brenta with some effort. After a short descent into the eastern scree basin, a narrow rock ledge crosses the Cima Brenta Bassa slightly descending towards the already visible Rifugio Pedrotti e Tosa (2483m).
Summit ascent (approx. 250 m altitude gain): Below the hut, on path 326, right of the distinctive rock "Croz di Rifugio", you descend towards Val di Ceda. After about 400m, a path branches off to the left into a block terrain ("Monte Daino" written on a stone – easy to overlook!). We follow the cairns through the jumble of rock blocks. Behind is a sandy narrow path recognizable. It briefly crosses the south flank of Croz di Rifugio descending a little and swings to the northeast into a large cirque. This cirque is bypassed with only a slight ascent. Below Bocca Leone, the trail leads in a large right bend into the steep scree cirque "Busa del Daino." The cairns point southeast to the notch between the northeast and southwest summits. Over a small path in the scree, then again pathless over rocky steps, and finally with light climbing over an inclined slab (UIAA I-) on the ridge rock, we reach the summit ridge. The first ridge peak is hiked directly, then you have to descend on the right via footprints on a very exposed grassy slope into the summit notch. Now you scramble exposed and pathless over crumbly and rocky terrain slightly below the southwest ridge and lastly somewhat easier directly on the ridge up to the cairn at the northeast summit of Monte Daino. Wonderful panorama into the central Brenta and over Lake Molveno.
Return along the ascent route.

Directions
From the Adige valley, you reach Dimaro via San Michele, Mezzolombardo, and Cles. From here, head south over the Passo Campo Carlo Magno to Madonna di Campiglio. From the town center, a narrow paved toll road through the forest leads to the slightly higher located Rifugio Vallesinella at 1513m. If the mountain road is closed to car traffic, the beautiful shaded forest trail Sentiero Paoli (No. 376) is a good alternative from the valley station of the Grostebahn, passing Malga Vallesinella to reach Rifugio Caseinei.
