Ideal short hike (when arriving or departing) to a rather scenic hill at the end of Lake Iseo.

Roadbook
100 meters after the parking lot, we leave the road to the right. A farm track passes the last house into the mountain forest. Soon we turn right and cross the western slope on the rocky hiking trail up to the southern ridge. Over this, we reach a flattening with a bird-catching station. Here, we turn left and reach the summit of Monte Cognolo (with a large Indian tent) via the summit ridge.
Westwards, it goes down a slightly eroded hiking trail to a flattening at a bird-catching station (Balota del Coren) with a first view down to Lake Iseo. If you turn right here, you reach a beautiful rock with a cross (Corno del Creili) and a wonderful view down to the southern part of Lake Iseo during the descent. Back to the bird-catching station. Now we hike on a good path along the southwest ridge down to the junction with a mountain road. We follow it right into a saddle with a few holiday homes. In a left curve, we reach a bird-catching station on a cart track and a little lower on a rocky path the large cross on Monte della Madonnina.
Back to the saddle and on the road to the Chiesa della Madonna del Corno. Now a paved steep hollow path leads down to the starting point at Via San Rocco.

Directions
On the A22 (E45) through the Eisack valley to Affi, on the SR450 to Peschiera, on the A4 (E70) to Brescia Nord (or Ospedaletto) and on the SPBS510 towards Lake Iseo.
Exit before the Cognolo tunnel in Camignone, continue left to Provaglio d'Iseo and on a narrow mountain road (Via San Rocco) to Pian delle Viti.
