The destination of our mountain route, Monte Biaena, marks the southeast border of Val Gresta. The mountain near Ronzo Chienis offers a spectacular panoramic view over the Vallagarina, the Adige Valley, the Lessini Mountains, and the Adamello. The extensive meadows on the slopes, together with those of Monte Stivo, form a large area used for agriculture. A military position was established at the summit cross during World War I. Due to the good all-around view, Monte Biaena was an important tactical station. Our path to the summit first takes us through the large meadow areas at Passo Bordala, with colorful mountain flora growing along the trail. The route goes over forest paths and finally climbs on rocky mountain trails. Behind Malga Somator follows the Sentiero Somator, which includes some secured mountain paths and a short, easy via ferrata to the summit. Great views are already visible along the way, and on the return, we traverse the mountain on its flank along a scenic hillside
