As its name "Daisho-in Course" indicates, you walk a course from Daisho-in at the foot of Misen to the summit. Daisho-in, said to have been founded by the monk Kobo Daishi Kukai, is a temple full of attractions that is worth visiting before and after climbing, rather than just passing as the starting point of the course. The course has a lot of stone steps, but the view along the way is better than other courses leading to the summit of Misen, such as Momijidani Course and Omoto Course. "Choishi" markers are installed along the course; one cho (a unit) equals 109 meters, and there are 24 cho to the summit. Shortly after starting the hike, you will see the Shiraito Waterfall, one of the Itsukushima Eight Views, about 14 meters tall. Around the 6th cho, there is the "Azumaya Observation Deck (site of Satomi Tea House)" at an elevation of 166 meters. From there, you can already look down on the torii gate and the island town below. The highlight near the halfway point of the course
