Today my destination was the local mountain of Amden. It is 1934 meters high and located right between Lake Walen, Federistock, Speer, and Leistchamm.

The car brought me early in the morning to the large car park in the middle of Amden. From there starts the hiking trail which ascends steeply and leads along Hag and Gfell to the Niederschlag cable car mountain station (1290m). Just then, the first "cable car hikers" set off on the further path to Mattstogg. After about 100 vertical meters, the mountain hiking trail begins (marked white-red-white). Through Walau and Nor and along many avalanche barriers, you quickly reach the path along the ridge and the summit cross. The last approx. 30 vertical meters are very well secured with chains.
