Roadbook
We hike a few ski slope meters downhill from the Loser hut and turn right onto the Loser normal ascent. A steep forest-larch trail soon leads into the grassy scree slope. At the first narrow rock band, we leave the normal ascent to the left. Red dots mark the exposed, narrow trail that runs above the rock band along the southern wall of Loser under the Loser hole (cave) into a rocky saddle and from there to the start of the Sisi climbing trail. Shortly below, we turn left. The path quickly becomes barely visible traces that lead through the avalanche blasting area over a short rocky step onto a steep, grass-covered scree slope. Almost pathless, you try to reach the rock foot of the vertical western wall of Loser and then follow the clear trail higher until suddenly on the right the entrance to the steep rocky gully of Loserthörl appears. Well-stepped rock alternates with coarse scree and steep grass. You follow the logical course in surprisingly solid rock. First, you scramble on the southern edge of the gully, then cross to the left to bypass the impressive rock tower via rocky steps left of the scree gully. Above, we traverse grassy rock steps to the right into the southern part of the gully. A few simple rock steps lead to the grassy summit dome of Loser. On the normal path, turn right and curve left to the already visible summit cross.
Descent on the smooth polished rocky trail (normal path) into the hollow, continuing straight through larch corridors to the karst meadow area of Hochanger (with a small hut) and across typical (smooth-polished on the trail) karst terrain past the famous Loser window and briefly down through a narrow rocky gully towards Augstsee. Before descending towards the lake in the cirque, we turn left and cross along the markers partly pathless over typical karst formations to the saddle between Greimuth and Atterkogel. At the fork, continue left. A short rocky step leads to a steep grassy gully that we follow to a saddle. Now left across a grassy slope to the summit saddle and right on the narrow grass ridge to the nearby summit register of Greimuth.
Return on the ascent path to the saddle in front of the imposing Atterkogel and down through the grass-covered scree cirque to Augstsee. Along the east shore, we reach the large parking lot of Loseralm. On the piste, we hike under the Dimmelwand (with Sophie climbing trail) to the Loser window cable car and then on a trail or over the steep piste back to the Loser hut.
