A challenging route from Gramais to Leiterspitze and back via Rosskarsee with partly pathless terrain and light climbing. I spend quite a bit of time in the mountains but hesitate to publish my routes in detail because I think many others already do that. I’m happy when I can have my peace in the mountains. A ridge hike.

Author’s recommendation
At the end of the Otterbach, not right into the Sacktal, but left in the direction of Steinseehütte, before turning right again into the Bittrichkar or towards Bittrichsee. This way you avoid a pathless section and likely experience a more scenic and charming stretch.

Safety information
Watch out for falling rocks when descending from Leiterspitze.Roadbook
First through the Otterbachtal, then right into the Sacktal and left to Mintschsee, further pathless into the Bittrichkar to the former Leiterferner, which has left a small lake and a lot of moraine debris, then continuing on a faint but marked path to the summit of Große Leiterspitze, which offers a magnificent view. Descent via the normal route, which leads over a gully to Alblitjöchl, which is very steep and where stones can quickly begin to roll (beware of falling rocks), from the Jöchl further ascending again and on a small trail or pathless to Landschaftsspitze. Descent into Landschaftskar over grass heading west, then again over a steep rocky scree slope with light climbing before I get a first view of Roßkarsee at elevation 2316 between Landschaftseck and Schafkopf. Descent back to Gramais over Roßkar, which is marked by huge debris flows and where the path had to be newly laid in places.

Author’s map recommendations
The AV map Lechtaler Alpen/Parseierspitze does not show the path from the end moraine of the former Leiterferner to Leiterspitze via the Leiterscharte, although it is repeatedly marked.
