Laste - Corno di Tramin - Valdurna loop
Spectacular walk that goes up towards Corno di Tramin from Asten and down to Lake Valdurna. Be careful in some sections due to the presence of rocks to overcome (uphill) and debris (downhill).
After leaving the village of Alten, take a dirt road that goes through the trees and slightly uphill, entering the valley of the river of the same name. At a certain point, take a path that, still in the forest, reaches Malga Tramin more steeply. Here the forest ends and you gently cross the valley up to a point where you climb steeply to a plateau with a small lake. Here you face a second climb to reach the Tramin pass. From the pass, you face the last challenging climb to Corno using the direct route towards the summit along the slopes of the mountain between rocks to overcome and stretches of path. From the summit, continue along the opposite side of the mountain where, along the slope full of debris, you descend through switchbacks and trail traces until a final uphill stretch where, at the end, you face a small and simple rocky section with a help rope. After this point, you gently descend to Forcella Vallaga Refuge, and from there continue downhill first through the stony gully at the foot of the refuge, then through meadows and rhododendrons typical of the Sarentina valley, and finally through the woods up to Lake Valdurna mainly via a path, then a forest road, and finally a stretch of paved road.
