Lamsenspitze

The starting point of the mountain tour to the Lamsenspitze in the Achensee region is the Gramaialm. From the parking lot, you first hike relatively flat with a view of the Lamsenspitze to a fork in the path where you keep left and continue towards the valley end. The trail winds in switchbacks up to the Eastern Lamsenjoch and finally to the Lamsenjochhütte (1953 m) above. The Lamsenjochhütte is open from mid-June to mid-October and offers overnight accommodations. From the Lamsenjochhütte, follow the trail towards the east face of the Lamsenspitze. First, you walk along a ridge and then cross the scree field. Over a smooth, secured rock slab, you then ascend to the Lamsscharte (2270 m). From here, you continue through scree towards the northwest to a gully further on. Following the cable protections, you now climb upward and then along a switchback trail to the summit cross. A fear of heights and sure-footedness are prerequisites for this tour; furthermore, due to the risk of falling rocks, you should be cautious and quickly cross gullies. Alternatively, to this ascent variant, the via ferrata through the Brudertunnel is available. The descent follows the ascent route.
