A stationary camping trip from the Dortmunderhütte, for mountain hikers with a steady pace and no fear of heights. The daily stages are long and challenging.
The Sellrain mountains form the northernmost part of the Stubai Alps. You won't find large glaciers here, but you will find tranquility, cozy huts, and challenges for the experienced mountain hiker with good fitness.
We spend a large part of this trek in the Dortmunder Hütte. The hut of the Dortmund section of the DAV is located on the edge of the almost deserted summer winter sports resort Kühtai in Sellrain. In summer mainly cyclists and mountain hikers visit. The hut at 1948 m is an excellent base for solid day hikes in an exceptionally quiet area.
The trek includes several long daily stages and is intended for people with good fitness, sure footing, and no fear of heights. You carry a day backpack. For the last night, you stay at the Schweinfurterhütte. On that day, you pack some extra items in your backpack. Enjoy the luxury and the peace. At night you hear only cowbells until the alarm clock calls you for a new mountain hike.
Note: This trek has previously been listed by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always responsible for checking the current route conditions. Get information at the local tourist office or from the experts of the respective region to ensure a safe and well-prepared trip.
