The Kronplatz is known by many as a ski area. But even in summer, this summit is very appealing due to the magnificent panoramic view. We start in Reischach and then always hike up the forested northern slope of the 2,275 m high Kronplatz. In the upper third, we pass the Bergfreunde Hut snack station before reaching the cable car middle station. From here, it is not far to the summit, where we are rewarded with a splendid panorama including the Zillertal Alps to the north, the Sarntal Alps and the Ortler massif to the west, as well as the Dolomites with the Marmolada to the south. After a break, we descend – passing the Haidenberg guesthouse – into the valley. From Stefansdorf, a little-traveled road leads us back to Reischach through wide meadows. Anyone wanting to shorten the ascent and/or descent can take the cable car from Reischach to the middle station.
