From the parking lot, follow a well-marked gravel path on foot to the Hintermoar Alm and then in somewhat steeper switchbacks up to the managed Kranzhorn Alm (1,230 m). Shortly after, you already have the first beautiful view towards Kufstein, the Kaiser Mountains, and the high Alps situated behind them. Across alpine meadows, follow a somewhat steeper trail to the summit. Caution is advised here due to steep drops: The German-Austrian border runs over the summit of the Kranzhorn (1366 m), which is why the ascent is rewarded by two summit crosses. The descent goes via the Bubenau Alm. The driveable road is reached below the parking lot, so there is a short ascent again here.
